STEALTH Vs RESCUED Voted 'Nottingham's Best Club Night' 2009 & 2010 Every Saturday at Stealth & The Rescue Rooms
Saturday September 3rd, 2011
MJ COLE (Talkin Toud / Prolific) We are pleased to bring you the Stealth Vs Rescued debut of UK Garage legend, and current UK Funky don, MJ Cole.
Releasing Sincere in 1998, an era-defining single that was both one of the biggest influences on 21st century British dance music, and an overground hit, MJ Cole went on to sign to Gilles Peterson’s Talkin’ Loud label where he put out Sincere the album; one of – if not the – defining garage full-length, and one that spawned the massive single ‘Crazy Love’. It was also nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
While he never lost his touch with underground British club music MJ Cole's releases on his own label, Prolific, including the recent Riddim EP, remixes for Mad Decent, Primary 1, Drop The Lime, etc and his production work with Wiley and Example among others show a man deeply committed to the search for emotive, smart and brave club music.
Silkie’s rise to prominence has been documented by several high profile achievements, including the acclaimed release of his 2010 City Limits Vol.1 album on Deep Medi and being personally chosen by Mala to feature on Mary Anne Hobbs’ legendary Generation Bass show.
Mimm has been pushing unique and individual clothing, forward thinking music events and monthly art exhibitions since May 2010. After recently moving to a new premises in Hockley (opposite Broadway Cinema) a new project is being developed by this creative collective.
On Friday 27th May DETONATE throw their first party since the massive Indoor Festival back at the start of the month - featuring NERO, BROOKES BROTHERS, CULTURE SHOCK, KRYPTIC MINDS, ULTERIOR MOTIVE & lots more.
★ PHAELEH (Disfigured Dubs / Wheel & Deal) ★ Phaeleh – pronounced “Fella” In 2006, classically trained musician and electronic sound scientist Matt Preston was swept up in the wake of the Dubstep phenomenon. His diverse influences resulted in an equally diverse musical output, ranging from the euphoric heights of Nordic electronica through cinematic breakbeat to the depth charges of Dubstep.
Phaeleh’s unique sound has garnered support from the scene’s leading artists, including Skream, N-Type, Scuba, Distance, Kryptic Minds, Oris Jay, RSD and Jakes to name but a few, as well as radio support on BBC Radio 1, BBC Asian Network, BBC 6 Music and Kiss FM. This has helped Phaeleh to top the sales charts with releases on Surface Tension, Against the Grain & Urban Scrumping as well as recent releases on Skream’s Disfigured Dubz, N-Type’s Wheel & Deal Records and label of the moment Black Box.
