RENAISSANCE MAN (Dubsided/Sound Pellegrino/Made To Play) ★
Renaissance Man are one of the hottest acts in House & Techno, making their name in the last few years via their trademark spaced out percussion, chopped worldly samples and chunky low end.

The duo hail from Helsinki, and their debut EP was released on Dave Taylor (Major Lazer / Switch)’s Dubsided in early 2009, followed by a release on Kitsuné Records. A subsequent EP on Parisian label Sound Pellegrino (complete with Hare Krishna-sampling track 'What Is Guru') became one of the year’s most talked-about underground hits.

Remixes for the likes of Azari & III, Crookers, Brodinski, Delphic, Harvard Bass, Crystal Fighters, Noob and previous Toybox guest Solo have followed, and last year the duo released not one but two EP's on Jesse Rose's 'Made To Play' imprint.

Their tracks have been permanent features in the sets of Annie Mac, Diplo, Jack Beats, Riva Starr, Claude VonStroke, Foamo, Tiga, Brodinski, Duke Dumont, Boy 8-Bit & Zombie Disco Squad, and we are looking forward to welcoming them back to Stealth to start 2011 off with a bang!

Check out their recent mix for Paris Social Club here (featuring tracks and remixes from the likes of Justin Martin, Ramadanman, Caribou, DJ Koze, Braiden, Boys Noize, Carl Craig and Azari & III):

HARVARD BASS @ Stealth (17/04/10)

We are proud to welcome, all the way from San Diego, the mighty HARVARD BASS (signed to Sound Pellegrino/Institubes) to play at Stealth Vs Rescued on Saturday April 17th.

Sound Pellegrino has quickly become one of our favourite house & techno record labels, releasing massive tracks from past Stealth Vs Rescued guests Solo, Renaissance Man, L-Vis 1990, Gucci Vump (aka Brodinski) & Zombie Disco Squad. The stand-out track from the label is Harvard Bass' 'Caked', which showcases his trademark sound - a combination of elegant, smooth and sophisticated minimalism on one side and bad ass dirty jacking ghetto house grooves with filthy drums and simple, obsessive riffs on the other. Harvard Bass has since produced massive remixes for the likes of The Count & Sinden, Drop The Lime, Beni & Zombie Nation gaining him releases on Turbo Records, Fool's Gold Records & Kitsuné Music.

Download Harvard Bass' guest mix for Crookers.
