SHONKY (Apollonia/Spectral Sound)
Shonky is a producer that has been turning heads for quite some time now, whether it be through his more minimal techno excursions circa 2006 and later on the ever-reliable Spectral Sound, or the unmistakable, era-defining house on the now defunct Freak n' Chic Records. Shonky has cleverly evolved with the times and has created a deeper house sound much like his contemporaries.
While the fate of Freak n' Chic was a case of dismay amongst many, it appears that Shonky and fellow Frenchmen Dyed Soundorom and Dan Ghenacia have some exciting plans in the form of a new label called 'Apollonia' which we all await with bated breath. While Shonky's credentials as a producer are undeniably impressive; perhaps more importantly for us at zleep (and the party) we also have it in good knowledge that he's a fine DJ too. So we're delighted that this icon of French house is going to be bringing the party...
