FAKE BLOOD @ Stealth 6th Birthday !!!

With just 4 weeks to go before Stealth's 6th Birthday we thought we would start announcing the jam-packed lineup! First up we are pleased to welcome back a man who has been playing at Stealth (under one guise or another) since our opening in 2004.

FAKE BLOOD
Fake Blood is the hottest name in dance music right now. If you are a regular stealth-goer you would have undoubtedly heard his tracks 'Mars', 'I Think I Like It' & 'Fix Your Accent'; and most likely his remixes the likes of Armand Van Helden, The Black Ghosts, Bonde do Rolê, The Count and Sinden, Little Boots, Underworld, UNKLE, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, South Rakkas Crew, The Kills, Hot Chip, Miike Snow, Calvin Harris & The Gossip.
As a DJ, using a combination of CDJs & Serato, he is widely acknowledged as the most talented technical Dj on the circuit today, throwing in acapellas & fx over his air-tight mixes.

Theo Keating (aka Fake Blood) has been playing at Stealth since day one. After originally making his name with the hit single "Ooh La La" as (one half of) The Wiseguys, Theo took on the guise of DJ Touché, and became a Stealth resident alongside Radio Slave at the 'Boutique' club night. Theo has also played live (and Dj'ed) at Stealth as part of the duo The Black Ghosts (alongside Simon Lord from Simian). More recently Theo has been destroying clubs worldwide under the name "Fake Blood".
When we were thinking of who to invite down to headline our 6th Birthday party there was only one man on our list.

Watch this little video from his last appearance at dollop:

The Stealth 6th Birthday celebrations take place on Friday April 23rd and advance tickets are available from:
Stealth 6th Birthday Tickets
Stealth 6th Birthday Alt Tickets
or in person from the Rock City Box office in Nottingham.

ps. We have been looking for an excuse to post this awesome video for a while :

GASLAMP KILLER & COMMIX!! Easter Sunday Bass Special @ Stealth!!

EASTER SUNDAY 4th April. 10pm - late
with...

THE GASLAMP KILLER

(Brainfeeder/Warp/LA)

Part of Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder collective, The Gaslamp Killer is renown for his energetic DJ sets, and infectious, totally unique character. A founder of LA’s acclaimed weekly Low End Theory club, the GLK’s lateral crate-digging through dusty psychedelia, classic hip hop, cutting edge beats and heavy dubstep is unparalleled. With the spirit of the West Coast psychedelic movement of the 60s and the current manifestation of the beat generation running strong in his blood, the GLK will lay waste to Stealth Sunday 4th April!!

GLK @ Sonar 2009 ->

COMMIX
(Hospital Records/Metalheadz/Good Looking)

Informed by the likes of Doc Scott and Fabio, a Commix DJ set has always been about smooth, rolling mixes, a continual flow – rather than the high-energy, high impact histrionics many D&B DJs have fallen into and it is the sounds and the techniques of the house and techno that have had the biggest impact on the guys!! Fusing minimal techno undertones and deep Philly Soul flavas woven around crystal clear drum and bass rhythms to create a diverse and compelling experience!!

and lots more tbc

Sunday 4th April. 10pm - late.

HARVARD BASS @ Stealth (17/04/10)

We are proud to welcome, all the way from San Diego, the mighty HARVARD BASS (signed to Sound Pellegrino/Institubes) to play at Stealth Vs Rescued on Saturday April 17th.

The stand-out track from the label is Harvard Bass' 'Caked', which showcases his trademark sound - a combination of elegant, smooth and sophisticated minimalism on one side and bad ass dirty jacking ghetto house grooves with filthy drums and simple, obsessive riffs on the other. Harvard Bass has since produced massive remixes for the likes of The Count & Sinden, Drop The Lime, Beni & Zombie Nation gaining him releases on Turbo Records, Fool's Gold Records & Kitsuné Music.

Download Harvard Bass' guest mix for Crookers.

JOY ORBISON back at Stealth !!

After making his Nottingham debut at Stealth Vs Rescued last year, we are thrilled to welcome back JOY ORBISON to play at WIGFLEX on Friday June 4th.

Twenty-two-year-old Pete O'Grady from Croydon, who goes by the name Joy Orbison, is one of the hottest dance producers around, recently being named in the BBC's "Sound of 2010".

Despite all of this attention he still works as a "dogsbody" in a mail room, saying he prefers music to be a relief from work, rather than work itself.

O'Grady has been DJing since the age of 12 and his sound is a lovingly-crafted late-night evolution of house and UK garage, with soft bass, hypnotic home-made percussion and distant chopped-up vocals. His debut single, "Hyph Mngo/Wet Look" was released on Hotflush Recordings in October 2009, and has been followed by "J.Doe/BRKLN CLLN", "The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow" and remixes for Four Tet & Jose James.

Tickets are already flying out : Buy the last of the £8 earlybird tickets here.

Here is a video of Joy Orbison at Stealth Vs Rescued last year:

ROSKA (Rinse FM) @ GIRLS GO FREE (02/04/10)

On Friday April 2nd we are pleased to welcome back ROSKA for a GIRLS GO FREE event, where you can expect to hear the freshest House, UK Funky, Garage & Dubstep.

A former MC, Roska made a name for himself in the UK Funky explosion of 2008, and his ‘Climate Change’ and ‘Elevated Levels’ EPs are scene classics. Along with Geeneus, Cooly G and Lil Silva, he’s one of the few from the Funky scene to make an impact abroad – magazines like XLR8R and The Fader have been all over the South Londoner for a while now and with his debut album set to drop on Rinse soon he's no doubt going to be getting a whole lot more attention!!

Check out this awesome video teaser for his forthcoming track Squark:

Also on the night we have a Nottingham debut from MOSCA (Night Slugs/Fabric). Sub FM regular Mosca is best known for ‘Square One’, a UK House anthem that takes in tribal percussion, Karizma’s horns, the longing bass of Joy Orbison, cut-up R’n'B and patois samples – so basically everything good in music ever – and gets played out by Kode 9, Shortstuff and more. But that’s only half the story: check new productions like ‘Gold Bricks, I See You’ and you’ll realise that you’re dealing with one of UK music’s brightest young stars.

Support comes from Littlefoot & GIRLS GO FREE Resident, DJ Snigger.

Check out the Facebook Event for Guestlist info.
GIRLS - ADD your names to the event wall for FREE GUESTLIST before midnight.
BOYS - ADD your names on the event wall for £3 entry before midnight. *

A1 BASSLINE at Stealth this Saturday @ Stealth Vs Rescued

This Saturday ( Saturday 27th March ) we have another massive Stealth Vs Rescued event, and to headline we are glad to welcome back Croydon's finest A1 BASSLINE.

After cutting his production teeth with the drum and bass genre, he went on to form the nu-rave band 'Partyshank', before moving onto the more bass-heavy side of Electro, Garage & Techno under his A1 Bassline alias. His first release, the "Girl Thing" EP was released in 2008, and immediately gained support from the likes of Annie Mac, Sinden & Kissy Sell Out.

The bands were soon knocking on his door for remixes - including Little Boots, Buraka Som Sistema, Yo Majesty, The Qemists, Frankmusik & Ladyhawke.

A1 Bassline's 2nd EP "Bad Man Horror", was released on Fatboy Slim's Label Southern Fried and reached the heady-heights of number 2 in the MTV dance chart, smashing up clubs via the likes of DJs Fake Blood, Armand Van Helden, Jack Beats, Steve Aoki, Jaymo & Andy George, Bloody Beetroots & Rob Da Bank.

Look out for his upcoming collaborations with Foamo, Shinichi Osawa, Example & Tek One, as well as his new EP "Breathless" (coming on Southern Fried in April 2010).
