Dubbel Dutch (a.k.a. Marc Glasser) is a New York born DJ and Music Producer. Citing his first inspirations as Warp Records and the early sounds of dubstep and minimal techno he started producing electronic music in High School. In 2006, he began DJing college radio which led him to discover the eclectic world of underground dance music. Drawing from a increasingly diverse range of influences, his sound is always energetic and original, delivering a unique style of global bass music.

His releases have made waves and have seen support from Bok Bok, L-Vis 1990, Sinden, Toddla T, Jamie xx, Julio Bashmore, Star Eyes, Doc Daneeka, Boogaloo Crew, Mosca, AC Slater and so many more leaders of the 'UK-House' Scene. His track 'Throwback' won the favor of 5 stars in DJ Mag as well as the top spot in their April Issue’s ‘Pick of the Month’.

Now hailing from Austin, Texas, Dubbel Dutch brews up a style that fuses elements of UK Funky, Tech House, Bass Music & Grime that fits perfectly in almost any DJ’s sets. JAMIE xx b2b ONEMAN live on the Boiler Room (Fact/Young Turks)

After their sell out March event (with Claude VonStroke, Jamie Woon & Benji B), dollop return to Stealth on Friday June 3rd. The event will celebrate their 7th Birthday and the lineup is immense - featuring (amongst others) the beat-maker and knob shaker from The xx and prolific remix artist and producer JAMIE xx.


Jamie has had an amazing year, winning the Mercury prize (with his band The xx), remixing the likes of Adele & Falty DL, and collaborating with Gil Scott-Heron - and we are very pleased to have him back at Stealth.

SBTRKT & JACKMASTER's new shows on Rinse FM

We are pleased to let you know that Stealth favourites SBTRKT and JACKMASTER have both been given shows on the mighty Rinse FM.

Lock in to Rinse TONIGHT (Tuesday 12th April) from 11pm (2300 GMT) to hear the first of SBTRKT’s bi-weekly shows. At the same time next week you will be able to catch Jackmaster - and they will be rotating every week from there.

At only 20 years of age, Ed Sheeran is one of the most promising singer-songwriters in the UK today, with an ever-growing fanbase covering Hip-Hop, Folk, Grime, Acoustic & Indie.

Sheeran began recording aged 14 in 2005, which led to the release of his first EP, The Orange Room EP. Sheeran also released two albums, a self-titled one in 2006 and Want Some? in 2007.

In 2009, he played 312 gigs. When he ran out of money, he left his flat he was renting and started 'sofa surfing' around London. Also in 2009, he released another EP, You Need Me and in February 2010 began to get noticed after he posted a video through SB.TV.

Ed was soon spotted by Example, who asked Ed to support him on his national tour.

Also in February 2010 he released his second indie release, his critically acclaimed 'Loose Change' EP, which features one of his most popular songs 'The A Team'. A video was made for the song, and famously cost only £20 to make.

In April 2010 he bought a ticket to LA, with no contacts other than one poetry night. he played open mic nights all over LA, before being spotted at 'The Foxxhole' by Jamie Foxx, who invited him to stay at his house and record for the rest of his stay.

On 9 January 2011, Sheeran released his final independent EP, No.5 Collaborations Project featuring appearances by grime artists including P Money, Wiley, JME, Devlin and Ghetts. With this EP, Sheeran gained mainstream attention for reaching number 2 in the iTunes chart without any promotion or label, selling over 7,000 copies in its first week.

Last week Ed Sheeran put his latest EP 'One Take' up for FREE download via his website. The EP features new track 'Uni', 'You Need Me' and 'Wayfaring Stranger' (all recorded live in one take).

A1 BASSLINE at Stealth (Bank Holiday Sunday 1st May)

As we had mentioned previously, Bank Holiday Sunday May 1st sees the return of THE INDOOR FESTIVAL to Stealth, The Rescue Rooms and Rock City.

One of the acts we are most looking forward to seeing is Croydon's finest - A1 BASSLINE.

A1 BASSLINE (Southern Fried Records/Tighten Up)

"I’m a 23 year old producer who lives just outside of Croydon and i produce house music with influences from drum and bass, garage, grime and mainly uk sounding dance music."

After cutting his production teeth with the drum and bass genre, Christian Sibthorpe went on to form the nu-rave band 'Partyshank', before moving onto the more bass-heavy side of Electro, Garage & Techno under his A1 Bassline alias. His first release, the "Girl Thing" EP was released in 2008, and immediately gained support from the likes of Annie Mac, Sinden & Kissy Sell Out.

A1 Bassline's 2nd EP "Bad Man Horror", was released on Fatboy Slim's Label Southern Fried and reached the heady-heights of number 2 in the MTV dance chart, smashing up clubs via the likes of DJs Fake Blood, Armand Van Helden, Jack Beats, Steve Aoki, Jaymo & Andy George, Bloody Beetroots & Rob Da Bank. This was followed by the 'Breathless' EP, released via Southern Fried during the summer of 2010:



In late 2010 A1 Bassline set up the label 'Tighten Up' alongside Tek-One & Kavsrave, releasing the single 'Stabs' following support from Boys Noize, Feadz, Jack Beats & DJ Zinc:



A1 Bassline's latest offering shows he's been moving with the times. 'Shock Headed' sounds like the kind of massive stripped-down dancefloor bomb you might hear on Swamp81. Built around booming sub-bass, electro drums and chopped, slowed down, industrially heavy breaks, smacked-out hip-hop vocals melding everything together, its crying out for a loud club soundsystem to fully appreciate it.

Flip over, and there's more deep sub-action on '1.4.7', whose rigid house sits somewhere between Julio Bashmore's dirtybird antics and Boddika's less paranoid moments:

GHOSTPOET (live) at The Rescue Rooms (14/04/11)

A U.K.-based MC whose beats and flow brimmed with drowsy anxiety, Ghostpoet (Obaro Ejimiwe) became involved with music while attending university. He was a member of a grime collective but eventually gravitated toward a less energetic production sound and MC’ing style, introduced on 2010’s 'The Sound of Strangers', a self-released four-track EP that caught the ear of BBC DJ Gilles Peterson.



Peterson licensed the EP for his Brownswood label and featured a demo version of the track “Liines” on the sixth Brownswood Bubblers compilation, issued that November. Back in February Brownswood released the first Ghostpoet full-length, 'Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam', featuring the single 'Cash & Carry Me Home':



The track has seen support on Radio 1 from the likes of Rob Da Bank, Gilles Peterson, Nick Grimshaw & Zane Lowe, and was followed up by the album's second single 'Survive It':



Back in March Ghostpoet and UK rapper Kano met for the first time at the Red Bull Studios in London, and Kano stepped into the booth and laid down a verse for the remix of Ghostpoet's single "Cash And Carry Me Home". Fingers crossed the remix sees the light of day!

Metronomy the brainchild of Joseph Mount began year 2000 in the tiny, bohemian market town of Totnes, Devon, when Joseph’s Dad sold his son a computer so he could sit in his bedroom and make electronic music.

After decamping to Brighton for Uni, Metronomy released the debut album, ‘Pip Paine (Pay The £5000 You Owe)’ in June 2006. DJs such as Erol Alkan began supporting the first single 'You Could Easily Have Me', and with the new demand for live shows, Joseph clocked that he might need some help - adding Gabriel & Oscar to the band lineup.



Move on 2 years and ‘Nights Out’ a wonky love-child of Giorgio Moroder, New Order, Pet Shop Boys and Unfinished Sympathy is a second album that feels like a debut. The first to be vocal-led, with the self-effacing Joseph stepping up and grabbing the mic for most of the tracks; and, crucially, the first to introduce Metronomy as a fully live propsition (with drummer Anna Prior and bassist Gbenga Adelekan completing the lineup) rather than a pseudonym for Joseph‘s solo work. The album spawned 6 singles - including 'Radio Ladio', 'Heartbreaker' & 'A Thing For Me':







'She Wants' - the first single from Metronomy's third album, 'The English Riviera' - has been described by The Guardian as "a brilliantly gloomy slice of twisted electro-pop, all creepy Cure-like basslines and weird synth grumbles".

This Saturday we are looking forward to welcoming back Trouble & Bass star AC Slater to Stealth Vs Rescued. Brooklyn used to be known for its brownstone houses and pizza, but these days AC Slater (aka Aaron Clevenger) is working hard at making sure the borough is a hotspot on the worldwide map of heavy bass. Raised on ’90s hip-hop and nourished by old skool rave, Slater has combined his influences and love of music to birth his own production style, which is currently breathing life into subwoofers worldwide.

AC Slater continues to display his excellent DJing skills from Europe to the UK, from Canada to Mexico, from Asia to Australia and everywhere in between, leaving pumping adrenaline and wobbly speakers behind him wherever he goes. His music is consistently played on BBC Radio 1 and Kiss 100, and his tracks have appeared in DJ sets from Crookers, Armand Van Helden, Jack Beats, Freestylers, MSTRKRFT, Sinden, Drop the Lime & Stanton Warriors to name a few.

AC’s first major EP, 'Jack Got Jacked' hit the #1 bestseller position on Juno back in 2008 (and helped to launch the then unknown duo Jack Beats); Moby picked his remix of "Turn the Music Up" as one of the top 10 songs of the decade; and both Beatport and XLR8R Magazine have picked him as an "Artist to Watch" in 2009. Believe the hype!

How does it work?

On entrance to MUTE you will be given a pair of wireless headphones, which have a volume control on one side and a switch to choose between the DJ on channel 1 and the DJ on channel 2. This enables you to choose what channel you want to listen to, or of course you could always take your headset off, stand back and marvel at a club full of people dancing and singing along to DJs that only they can hear.

Get to know... MOOMBAHTON

Moombahton (pronounced Moom-buh-tone) is a genre of electronic dance music that was created by American dj/producer Dave Nada in winter 2009. The specific event that stimulated NADA's development of the Moombahton genre was his slowing the Afrojack remix of the Silvio Ecomo & DJ Chuckie song "Moombah" to 108 beats per minute. Because that tempo nears that of the Reggaeton genre Nada created the neologism "Moombahton" by combining the title of the track "Moombah" and the "ton" ending of the word "reggaeton" and applied it to his new genre. The original Moombahton tracks feature chopped vocals, layered acapellas, extended and enhanced build-ups, as well as the introduction of new drums & percussion elements.

The Moombahton genre has since been embraced by influential artists and labels such as Diplo, Brodinski, Fool's Gold and Dubsided, and with Toddla T presenting a 'Moombahton Special' on Radio 1 and a Mad Decent showcase at the Miami Winter Music Conference the hype surrounding the genre continues to grow.

The UKs leading name in the genre is DJ SMUTLEE who is resident at London hotspot YoYo. Check out his mix for the Mixpak Records blog, showcasing the sounds of Moombahton:

To date, there’s been an aura of mystique and anticipation surrounding the music of Jam City. Purported to be ridiculously prolific with his output, Jam City dubplates have been a staple of the charts, mixes, DJ sets & weekly Rinse FM shows of Bok Bok & L-Vis 1990 all the way back to before Night Slugs was a label entity. The young producer has even composed a film soundtrack and was featured in the 'New Band Of The Day' Guardian column over a year and a half ago!

In the past 12 months there has barely been a single music commentator who hasn't extolled the brilliance of Jack Latham aka Jam City. He has played a crucial role in the ascent of Night Slugs to its rightful place as one of the best dance labels going at the moment. His FACT mix in late 2009 quickly marked him out as one to watch and he has gone on to justify the (considerable) hype with two fantastic releases on Night Slugs.
