MJ COLE (Talkin Toud / Prolific)
We are pleased to bring you the Stealth Vs Rescued debut of UK Garage legend, and current UK Funky don, MJ Cole.
Releasing Sincere in 1998, an era-defining single that was both one of the biggest influences on 21st century British dance music, and an overground hit, MJ Cole went on to sign to Gilles Peterson’s Talkin’ Loud label where he put out Sincere the album; one of – if not the – defining garage full-length, and one that spawned the massive single ‘Crazy Love’. It was also nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
While he never lost his touch with underground British club music MJ Cole's releases on his own label, Prolific, including the recent Riddim EP, remixes for Mad Decent, Primary 1, Drop The Lime, etc and his production work with Wiley and Example among others show a man deeply committed to the search for emotive, smart and brave club music.
